EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY Weigh Belt Feeder Thayer Scale has introduced the new MWF‐SGSP‐OS Ultra‐Sanitary Open Construction Weigh Belt Feeder for processing of any application where reliability and weighing performance is paramount. The belt feeder can provide either a "closed loop" gravimetric control of material feed rate or an "open loop" con‐ trol for pre‐ cise convey rate output and totalization of an uncontrolled or intermittent material supply. The MWF‐SGSP‐OS Sanitary Weigh Belt Feeder has been designed for handling a wide range of materials and densities; positive belt tracking, without the use of mechanical devices, due in part to a unique belt tracking system; easy access, with a low‐maintenance design and no tools disassembly; and fast belt removal due to a cantilevered frame. Belt velocity is measured from the tail pulley rather than the drive motor, pro‐ viding a direct measurement of belt speed. According to the manufacturer, this improves both measurement and control of material. Furthermore, the load cell as‐ sembly can be easily removed, then reinstalled with‐ out re‐calibration of the feeder. Thayer Scale, www.thayerscale.com Coolant Analyzer The new OSA4 CoolCheck coolant analyzer is an analytical instrument that performs tests on engine coolant. CoolCheck deter‐ mines the coolant formulation and can identify prob‐ lems within the cooling system. The device uses an Embedded XP Panel PC that is coupled with a dual path multi‐ wave spectrometer. It executes nine diagnostic tests, in less than one a minute, and prints an easy to understand diagnostic report. The CoolCheck an‐ alyzer will accurately report glycol to water ratio, according to the manufacturer. It will also report the condition and quality of coolant to protect against freeze up, overheating, and engine seizure; identify the presence of any containments that can cause internal radiator damage; and qualify the in‐ tegrity of coolant brand to maximize performance. Moreover, the CoolCheck coolant analyzer's small design makes it easier for users to keep it near their service area. On-Site Analysis Inc., www.on-siteanalysis.com Track-type Tractors The Cat D11T and D11T Carrydozer come with design refinements that include enhanced auto shift, dynamic inclination monitor, automatic climate control and available automated ripper control. Their 850‐net hp (634 kW) Cat C32 engines are fuel efficient, and with blades ranging in capacity up to 57 cu. yd. and operating weights up to 248,456 lbs., both ma‐ chines can work productively in the toughest materials, according to the company. A new cooling package uses a two‐part radiator with aluminum bar‐plate cores that con‐ tribute to durability, efficient heat transfer and corrosion resistance. The new oil‐to‐air hy‐ draulic‐oil cooler uses similar construction, and a hydraulically variable demand fan uses less power, reduces fuel consumption and lowers sound levels. The D11T and D11T CD also feature an "OK‐to‐Start" system that electronically checks critical fluid levels. Routine maintenance is facilitated by easily accessed filters, an optional automatic lubrication system, high speed oil change for engine and power train systems, and ecology drains for capturing fluids for proper dis‐ posal or recycling.
