bining resources to better serve their customers. As a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and field support of equipment for surface and underground min‐ ing, Joy Global will demonstrate its singular focus on min‐ ing with innovative products and systems along with life cycle services that make mining operations safer and more productive. Surface and underground mine operations worldwide ob‐ tain exceptional productivity, availability and reliability from their investment in Joy Global equipment and sys‐ tems with the help of Joy Global Smart Services remote health monitoring technology. Visitors to the Joy Global exhibit will be able to see real examples demonstrating the power of technology that transforms data into valu‐ able knowledge, helping optimize machine and system performances. Joy Global will promote the value of its broad range of pro‐ ductivity‐boosting equipment and services for surface and underground mining. Attractions will include a Smart Serv‐ ices real‐time equipment health and performance‐manage‐ ment module, a P&H; LeTourneau‐series L‐2350 wheel loader, a Joy 14CM15 continuous miner, an innovative new operator cab for P&H; drills, a Joy armored face conveyor for a longwall system, and operator training simulators for both P&H; and Joy equipment. Joy will introduce several new product developments that represent the company's application of innovation and technology to continually drive down the owner's Total Cost of Operation in both surface and underground mining operations. In addition to the products and systems on display, a cen‐ tral stage will feature Joy Global's leadership and direct service support, and will serve to introduce new surface and underground mining systems – including a first‐of‐ its‐kind generation of loading equipment. www.joyglobal.com Konecranes Booth 27093 Konecranes will demonstrate its RailQ Runway Survey technology, designed for overhead lifting equipment run‐ ways. It combines laser survey techniques with Konecranes‐specific software to accurately measure straightness, elevation, rail‐to‐rail elevation and rail span. Konecranes engineers will be on hand to demonstrate how the RailQ system uses visualization technology and a re‐ mote controlled robot trolley which runs along the rail to collect data via Bluetooth technology. The system transfers the data to a total station, and then generates 3‐D and 2‐D graphs of the runway rails to identify misalignment and tracking issues. It conveys information on the runway alignment in an accurate, safe and efficient manner and of‐ fers optimal recommendations for corrective action. www.konecranes.com Major Wire www.rockproducts.com ROCKproducts • AUGUST 2012 29 L-3 Communications Booth 736 L‐3 Communications will exhibit an enhanced version of its industry‐ leading wireless communications and tracking product for under‐ ground mines, the Accolade Mine Safety System. This enhanced version includes new location/position equipment and leaky feeder and POTS integration capabilities. The customizable system provides a self‐ healing, redundant and survivable voice and data network, allowing for both communication underground (miner‐to‐miner) and between sur‐ face and sub‐surface personnel, and a real‐time tracking capability for all personnel. Approved for use by MSHA, the state of West Virginia and the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, L‐3 has installed Accolade in mines throughout the United States. www.L‐3com.com Major Wire Booth 554 Major Wire Industries Ltd. will display Flex‐Mat 3 High‐ Performance, Self‐Cleaning Screen Media. It is now avail‐ able in both modular and tensioned versions to help mining and industrial minerals operations significantly increase screen capacity and material throughput. It em‐ ploys independently vibrating wires that increase product throughput by up to 40 percent over polyurethane and rubber panels or traditional woven wire by increasing open area and eliminating blinding, pegging and clogging. The most commonly used version for mining and indus‐ trial mineral applications, Flex‐Mat 3 Modular 1‐ x 1‐ft. (305‐ x 305‐mm) and 1‐ x 2‐ft. (305‐ x 610‐mm) panels have more open area and provide up to 50 percent more screen capacity than polyurethane and rubber panels. L3 Communications
