EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY Excavators + The Doosan DX300LC excavator is powered by a 213 hp, 6‐cylin‐ der Doosan DL08K water‐cooled diesel engine that has been opti‐ mized for use with a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) system, diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and diesel particulate filter (DPF). The engine in this configuration is optimized to reduce ni‐ trogen oxides and after treatment is needed to reduce particulate matter to comply with interim Tier 4 (iT4) emission regulations. Moreover, the new intelligent boom float option allows the boom of the excavator to "float" up or down, allowing the operator to focus more on the task while decreasing the machine workload and increasing efficiency. The operator can choose when to engage intelligent boom float functionality via a switch on the control panel. With an operating weight of 66,782 lb., a maximum digging depth of 24 ft., dump height of 23 ft., 10 in. and maximum digging reach of 35 ft., 2 in., the DX300LC is designed for road building, site development and other construction applications. In addition to longevity, the patented Elite design allows the re‐use of the axle assembly, yielding a significant savings over replacing entire idler assemblies. Because there is no welding on the idler assembly, any damaged parts can be replaced in just minutes. Also, rollers can be refurbished at a fraction of the price of new ones, with 90 percent of the materials re‐used. Elite Rollers are available in 5‐, 6‐ and 7‐in. diameters with stan‐ dard shell thickness of 3/16 in. and 1/4 in. Standard rollers include 3/4‐in. bearings, while heavy duty rollers are equipped with 1 1/4‐in. bearings. They are available for belt widths of 18‐in. to 96‐in., with an op‐ tional polyurethane coating. An inner support tubes ensures that hubs are independent of each other for smoother operation and longer life. Stainless steel shafts are also available for corrosive applications. The D185K produces 185 cfm at 100 psi. Other Rotair models range from 40‐900 cfm. This new model features a Kubota V2403‐M‐E3B diesel engine and a direct drive air end that spins at 2700 rpm, ensuring maximum efficiency, long bearing life and quiet operation.
