Kleemann markets Mobicat mobile jaw crushers, Mobirex mobile impact crushers, Mobicone mobile cone crushers, and Mobiscreen mobile screens to the United States and Canada from its North American headquarters near Nashville. For over 155 years Kleemann has led the minerals processing industry with design ingenuity, producing crushing and screening equipment for many leading markets. Since being acquired by the Wirtgen Group in 2006, the company has experienced dramatic growth, which has led to reinvestment by the group to help streamline production and allow for greater volume for its new expanding markets. Classic German engineering and craftsmanship is built into aggregate processing equipment from Kl- eemann. As a firm with deep roots in the German manufacturing tradition, Kleemann draws its strength from the employees of its native region Swabia, in southwest Germany. In 1902, Kleemann expanded its manufacturing from agricultural equipment to building stationary plants for the processing of sand, rock and stone. After the Great War, products sold on the internation- al market included special crushers for the production of coarse aggregate that were capable of producing particles of regular cubic shape. Vibratory screens and gyratory crushers were added to the product range in 1928. After the Second World War, processing plants for the natural rock and stone industry became one of the company's main products. The hard rock crushing de- partment developed particularly well and became the core element in the company's activities, due also to its expanding business abroad. In 1950 Kleemann developed a hand-fed, mobile, wheel-mounted jaw crusher with drum screen. Klee- mann joined forces with Reiner, a supplier of conveying equipment, in 1979 and from 1981 onwards, developed and exported the first stationary plants for the recycling of demolition waste. The profitable field of road con- struction was opened up by developing special crushers and screens for concrete and asphalt processing. In 1984, Kleemann -- together with a system partner -- manufactured the first mobile, tracked crushing and screening plant. This heralded a new era as the mobile processing technology enabled Kleemann to offer flexible solutions to customer needs. In 1990, the company manufactured the first range of mobile, tracked processing plants, including im- pact crushers, jaw crushers, secondary crushers and screens with electric drive. In 2006, Wirtgen acquired a majority interest in Klee- mann GmbH of 80 percent, integrating the company into the Wirtgen Group. In early 2010, a new "grassroots" manufacturing plant incorporating the highest manufacturing tech- niques was opened at Göppingen near Stuttgart. Its advanced manufacturing technology reflects the quality that goes into construction aggregates pro- cessing equipment from Kleemann. On the 1.34 million sq. ft., site, this sophisticated manufacturing facility covers an area of 376,736 sq. ft., complemented with a 43,055 sq. ft. administra- tion building. The oversized interior capacity of the new main production facility accommodates the enor- mous dimensions of Kleemann's largest crushing and screening machines.
