The Cobra 290R builds on the success of the Cobra 230. This compact impact crusher provides the perfect solution for onsite recycling in urban areas and is easily transported from job to job. Ready to crush in minutes as a result of ground level set up and intuitive two button start up sequence, the Cobra 290 is a versatile and easy to use impact crusher that can operate in the most demanding of applications including reinforced concrete, recycled asphalt, construction and demolition waste, coal and natural rock. With throughput potential of up to 320 tph depending on feed material and apron setting, the Cobra 290 uses a 315-hp Volvo engine to power the fuel-efficient and high-performing direct drive system and has quickly established itself as a force to be reck- oned with in the compact crushing sector. At the heart of the Cobra 290 is the Terex CR055 Impact Crusher with a rotor size of 40-in. x 41.5-in. This impactor has been developed using proven compo- nents and technology from some of the larger impactors within the Terex range. Fitted as standard is a hinged inlet lid, which greatly reduces the risk of material bridging at the feed in point. Like the Cobra 230 crusher, the Cobra 290 also has two independent hydrau- lic controlled aprons, which allow the operator to optimize the material throughput and reduction. The patented hydraulic overload pro- tection system used not only protects the crusher in the event of an uncrush- able piece entering the chamber but it also minimizes apron bounce and reduces the amount of oversize mate- rial passing. Below the impact crusher the customer can choose between the full-length conveyor design and the vibrating underpan feeder, which offers com- plete belt protection in heavy duty recycling applications. The excellent clearance from the rotor to the belt; the short distance from the crusher outlet to the magnet, and the ability to hydraulically raise and lower the conveyor all ensure optimal mate- rial flow through the machine. EvoQuip, www.terex.com/evoquip/en Epiroc SB Hydraulic Breakers For Underground Applications While incorporating the popular fea- tures of Epiroc's Solid Body (SB) breaker range, the new SB 302 and SB 452 Tunnel versions provide applica- tion-specific modifications that extend equipment lifetime and reduce over- all operating costs in underground applications. Piston lifetime in the advanced Tunnel version is extended by a new piston in stainless steel, while bushing seat wear is minimized by a press-fit, one-piece bushing locked by an additional pin. An exchangeable wear plate protects the hammer body and durability is enhanced by heavy duty retainer bars and a locking pin. The special tunneling tool with a collar supporting a robust front shield and dust cover minimizes the dust intake when working on overhead areas. Two restrictors are available which enable the performance of the hydraulic breaker to be adjusted for either tra- ditional scaling operations or for more challenging rock breaking jobs. Together these new features add up to less wear, extended lifetime and lower overall operating costs in scaling, tunneling and underground mining applications. The new Tunnel versions are suitable for excavators in the weight class from 4.5 to 13 tons and standard under- ground scalers. Service weights are 690 lb. for the SB 302 and 990 lb. for the SB 452.
