WHAT CAN ATTENDEES EXPECT AT THE 2019 AGG1 ACADEMY & EXPO? LOCAL FLAVOR. "In many ways, AGG1 is still a regional show, and we're proud to partner with the Indiana Mineral Aggregates Association for the 2019 show to bring even more local aggregates operators to the show," said Pamala Bouchard, NSSGA vice president, membership and meetings. "Not only will IMAA's members be able to take advantage of special pricing for AGG1, but NSSGA will be able to promote the show to potential attendees in the state of Indiana who may not be aware of AGG1—it's a win-win for both associations." IMAA is also contributing several education sessions to the 2019 AGG1 Academy that focus on local infrastructure projects and workforce initiatives that Indiana producers have found to be successful. Both AGG1 and Convention attendees will have the opportunity to tour a huge local infrastructure project — the DigIndy Deep Tunnel Project, a 28- mile long network of 18-foot diameter deep rock tunnels being built 250 feet beneath the city. Along with other projects in the combined sewer system and at Citizens Energy's two advanced wastewater treatment plants, the $2 billion program is Indy's solution to reducing combined sewer overflows into area waterways by up to 97 percent, and keeping the utility in compliance with a Consent Decree with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This tour will first provide attendees with an overview of the project and a first-hand look at the active excavation site. MORE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. In addition to the AGG1 Academy education sessions, attendees will be able to take in a new kind of learning format directly on the show floor with the Rock & Road Talks Presentation Stage. Prominently placed in the center of the expo hall, AGG1 and World of Asphalt exhibitors will be able to tell the story of how their products and services solve problems or make strides in the industry. "We wanted to find a way to both increase attendees' ROI for coming to the show and give exhibitors the opportunity to showcase their products and increase traffic to their booths," said Michael Nercesian, NSSGA exhibits manager. "The Rock & Road Talks Presentation Stage accomplishes both objectives while adding to the overall show value." INDIANAPOLIS AMERICA'S #1 CONVENTION CITY With more than half of the country's population within a day's driving distance of Indianapolis, it's known as the "Crossroads of America." Indy is home to Indianapolis International Airport, Conde Nast Traveler's "#1 Airport in America," and that same publication named the NSSGA convention headquarters hotel, the JW Marriott Indianapolis, as the "#1 Hotel in America's Midwest." Therefore, it's no surprise that U.S.A. Today named Indy "America's #1 Convention City." Attendees can look forward to Indy's legendary Hoosier Hospitality, a flourishing culinary and brewery scene, and a city that's well-equipped for an event like NSSGA's AGG1 and the Annual Convention.
