Graham Weir, chairman of the board of directors of the Canadian-based company. "The acquisition of these strategically located assets will extend our reach in a high growth region of the world," stated President and Chief Executive Officer Stéphane Godin. Godin noted that, wherever Graymont operates, "we aim to be the preferred supplier, employer and partner of choice. To that end, I look forward to welcoming aboard new team members, customers and other stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region and familiariz- ing them with Graymont's world class vision." Jorge Bautista, chief executive officer of Mexico-based Grupo Calidra, said the transaction "further strengthens our position as the lime industry supplier of choice in Latin America, and underscores the mutually beneficial nature of our strategic partnership with Graymont." Graymont has held a significant equity interest in Grupo Calidra since 2003. Jean-Luc Deleersnyder, chief execu- tive officer of Sibelco, also lauded the transaction. "Through this transaction we will further sharpen our focus on material solutions where we can attain global leadership positions and will also gain additional flexibility to pursue future growth opportunities. We are pleased that the lime and limestone assets will find a home in strong, family-owned enterprises which share our values with respect to the well-being of employees and the environment. The fact that lime and limestone is the core business of both Graymont and Grupo Calidra, will ensure the continued viability and success of these operations." The transaction is subject to certain regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed during 2019. A four-day, on-site maintenance training course was provided by Cat- erpillar (Cat) Paving Products Inc. at H&K Group Inc.'s corporate campus in Skippack, Pa. The H&K Group family of companies provide heavy civil contracting and construction services, construction and building materials, and associated ancillary services at 85 operations in three states including eastern Pennsyl- vania, New Jersey and Delaware. The course included both classroom and hands-on maintenance training for all Cat F-models including the AP655F (8-ft.) and AP1055F (10-ft.) pavers. Training was provided through Cat corporate with H&K's acquisition of four new Cat AP655F pavers and one AP1055F in 2019. Carmeuse Acquires Yager Materials Carmeuse Lime & Stone announced that it has acquired Yager Materials and its subsidiaries. By acquiring Yager, Carmeuse expands its presence in the construction market. Yves Willems, president and CEO of Carmeuse, stated, "We are very excited with this acquisition, which is con- sistent with our long-term strategy and vision. Yager is a well-managed company with great people. It owns and operates excellent assets in an area that fits nicely with our existing network." Pat Yager of Yager Materials noted, "Yager Materials has worked with Carmeuse over the past few years and looks forward to joining the Carmeuse Group. Carmeuse is a family business that fits well with our current culture and values. The transaction should be a smooth transition for our employ- ees and customers. The intent is for the Yager family members to remain involved and maintain an interest in the company." Based in Owensboro, Ky., Yager is a regional aggregate, asphalt and ready-mix producer, which has been in operation for more than 100 years. Yager operates a stone quarry in Meade County, a sand and gravel dredge business along the Ohio River, three aggre- gate yards, two asphalt plants, four ready mix plants, a liquid asphalt terminal, a grade and drain division, and a marine barge construction and repair division. The Carmeuse Group is headquartered in Belgium and operates in approx- imately 90 locations globally. Yager Materials will be under the North Amer- ican Carmeuse Group headquartered in Pittsburgh, which has 30 operations and more than 1,800 employees in the United States.
