The HSE2.4S boasts improved technology that has been used in other Tsurumi series. As with all HS series pumps, the HSE2.4S features a built-in shaft mounted agita- tor that suspends solids, urethane semi vortex impeller for maximum durabil- ity and pump performance, and a dual mechanical seal with SiC faces which provide the longest operational life. The pumps also include a patented oil lifter that provides lubrication of the seal faces and a v-ring seal design that protects the mechanical seal from abra- sive and damaging particles. Tsurumi combined the latest technol- ogy with its legendary sand and trash handling pump to create the HSE2.4S. This pump is built for automatic oper- ation and features an automatic water sensor, which detects water to start the pump operation even when foreign materials are present. When the water level falls below the sensor, the pump continues to run for one minute then shuts off automatically. "The HSE2.4S is an exciting new prod- uct for us to add to our HS series," said Glenn Wieczorek, managing director of Tsurumi. "With the automatic water level sensor it makes the process easier for people because they don't have to manually check the water levels." The new pump was tested at job sites and completed more than 30,000 on-off cycles on average without failure or damage. The HSE2.4S is designed to pump water containing sand, solids and debris with minimal wear and clogging. "This new feature allows for saving power and money which we know is important to our customers," said Wieczorek. "At Tsurumi we strive to be at the forefront of innovation and I feel that we achieved that with the new HSE2.4S pump." The smart sensor technology provides an early indicator of any potential prob- lems by assessing the condition of bearings from vibration and temperature information. This helps to prevent downtime on applications such as bulk material handling conveyors typically found in the mining, aggregate and cement industries, as well as applications in the food and beverage and air handling sectors. The ABB Ability Smart Sensor for mounted bearings uses the latest algorithms to assess, manage and ensure perfor- mance of components. Eighty percent of bearing failures are lubrication related and a bearing "running hot" can indicate that proper lubrication procedures are not in place. Mon- itoring a bearing's vibration can indicate potential system problems. The smart sensor easily mounts to the bearing and commu- nicates wirelessly via a smartphones or other device. This capability keeps employees safe, enabling easy access to the health data of bearings in locations that may be difficult or dangerous to reach. "Bearings are critical components in conveyor systems and are often the first indicator of a system problem," said Artur Rdzanek, product manager for sensor technologies, Dodge mechanical products at ABB. "The display of the health status of the bearing enables operators to quickly and safely identify a potential problem, which allows them to schedule maintenance and prevent unplanned downtime." The ABB Ability Smart Sensor for Dodge mounted bearings is part of ABB Ability, which brings together all of ABB's digital solutions and services, each built from a unique combination of sector knowledge, technology leadership and digital expertise. As part of ABB Ability, customers are able to easily compare performance data of bearings across systems or plants. ABB, www.abb.com Tsurumi Introduces HSE2.4S Pump
