The event, sponsored by the Interna��� tional Society of Explosives Engineers (ISEE), is the world���s largest confer��� ence on explosives engineering. It fea��� tured five days of workshops, technical sessions and entertainment. The night also honored people who made outstanding contributions to the explosives engineering industry. Wolf��� gang W. Thum was honored with the Distinguished Service Award for his decades of work and innovations in the explosives industry. The highlight of the conference was the awards banquet, where nearly $30,000 was raised through a live auc��� tion for the Society of Explosives Engi��� neers Education Foundation. Big���ticket items included two pit crew passes to a select NASCAR race and a Prehnite The money raised through the auction will go to the Education Foundation ISEE Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to college students from across the globe who are pursuing a career in the blasting industry. Holcim Names Two to New Executive Positions The board of directors of Holcim (US) Inc. named Filiberto Ruiz to serve as the company���s president and chief execu��� tive officer. Ruiz���s appointment also includes serving as president and chief executive officer of Aggregate Indus��� tries US, a Holcim Group Company. FAST FACT PRODUCER NEWS Additionally, Bernard Terver, currently a member of the Holcim Ltd Executive Committee, formerly president and chief executive officer of Holcim (US) and Aggregate Indus��� tries US, has been named chairman of the board.
