MAINTENANCE WEAR PARTS Automatic Lubrication Device Eliminates Guesswork – and Failures " The time to lubricate 100 lubrication points on your conveyor equipment every 14 days can be drastically reduced by installing Klübermatics. " Klüber Lubrication, which offers high‐end tribological solutions to virtually all in‐ dustries and markets worldwide, and Perma‐tec, which manufacturers single‐ point automatic lubricators, have launched a new product line designed to provide customers in the cement and mining industries with a cost‐effective and reliable solution for automatic lubri‐ cation. The system – which carries the brand name Klübermatic – combines the best lubricant for the application with a single‐point automatic applicator, sup‐ ported by the engineering services of both companies. The Klübermatic is a self‐generated, fully automatic delivery system for Klüber lu‐ bricants to single or multiple lubrication points. Depending on the size of the appli‐ cator and the lubrication requirements, the Klübermatic delivery system can be set to discharge the correct level of grease or oil for up to 24 months. The Klübermatic line includes both elec‐ tro‐chemical and electro‐mechanical drive systems. Each Klübermatic consists of the drive system, piston and lubrication can‐ ister filled with correct lubricant for the specific application. A complete line of ac‐ cessories that may be required to com‐ plete the installation are also available for additional purchase. Depending on the model, the Klübermatic will contain between 30 cc and 500 cc of lubricating grease or oil. The discharge period for the Klübermatic is determined by the movement of the internal piston. By controlling the pressure on the piston in the electro‐chemical units or the lubri‐ cation intervals in the electro‐mechanical units, the proper amount of lubricant will be delivered over the discharge period. The Klübermatic can be direct mounted to the grease fitting or it can be remotely mounted using brackets and tubing. At the end of the discharge period, depending on the type of drive used the complete unit is removed, disposed of and replaced with a new unit (electro‐ chemical) or the lubrication canister and batteries are replaced and the drive unit is reused (electro‐mechanical). Operational Benefits A plant's profitability is directly related to equipment reliability. One of the main re‐ quirements for reliable operation is fre‐ quent greasing to prevent the entry of contaminants inside bearings. Since many of the lubrication points in a plant are dangerous and hard to access, they are not lubricated as often as re‐ quired. This causes accelerated wear of mechanical components and often leads to premature bearing failure. Extreme operating conditions such as high temperature, vibrations, shock loads, high loads and contaminants such as dust, dirt and water demand frequent and reli‐ able lubrication in order to prevent costly downtime. Klübermatics ensure an unin‐ terrupted supply of fresh lubricant to the friction point. This provides an effective seal of lubrica‐ tion to prevent the ingress of water, dirt and dust.
