Reporting from the Field By Mark S. Kuhar At Rock Products, I be‐ lieve in reporting from the field, not from be‐ hind a desk. During the course of my job, you might find me at a quarry, at a semi‐ nar or trade show, par‐ ticipating in a media event or even traveling overseas to get the best possible perspective on the industry. Rock Products has been around since 1896. That's longer than any other magazine in the industry. Longevity and reputation go hand in hand, and that's why year after year, if it is important, you will read about in the pages of this magazine. As we get set to enter 2014, you can expect more of the same high quality of reporting. It is a ConExpo‐Con/Agg year, a Hillhead year, and there will be count‐ less other events throughout the aggre‐ gates industry. I look forward to sharing with you the equipment and technology information, news and critical analy‐ sis you need to help you stay knowledgeable and informed. E CASE Driving a dozer at Case's Tomahawk, Wis., proving grounds. HILLHEAD Waiting for an equipment demonstration to begin at Hillhead, in Buxton, England. SANDVIK Sporting personal protective equipment at Sandvik's Quarry Academy in San Antonio. 64 ROCKproducts • DECEMBER 2013 CATERPILLAR Checking out the iron at Caterpillar's Tinaja Hills, Ariz., equipment-demonstration facility.
