EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY Conveyor Grease DAYLube high‐ performance grease uses nano‐ceramic particles, which act as submi‐ croscopic ball bearings, to provide contin‐ uous lubrication to steel surfaces, making it ideal for conveyors. The grease has a much lower coefficient of friction at all temperatures than traditional PTFE greases, according to the manufacturer. DAYLube oper‐ ates in temperature ranges from ‐40 F to 800 F, as the nano‐ceramic particles remain intact to 2,500 F. Fur‐ thermore, the product has high load‐bearing properties, a low dielectric constant, does not contain metal or sili‐ cone, and is resistant to steam, acids and most chemical products. In addition to the protection of conveyors and their bearings, the lubricating grease can also be used on bushings cables, wear plates, cams, lifters and more. DAYLube is available in 16‐oz. tubes and 16‐oz. jars, as well as cases of 12 each (tubes or jars). Dayton Progress, www.daytonprogress.com Joystick Controller Derived from the ultra‐ rugged PRO‐5 potentiomet‐ ric joystick, the new PRO‐5H Hall‐effect joystick offers the same durable mechanics enhanced with the improved life cycle of a non‐contacting Hall‐effect proportional output device. Features of the PRO‐5H in‐ clude heavy‐duty mechani‐ cal construction, non‐contacting Hall‐effect output device, excellent re‐ sistance to EMI and stan‐ dard 0.5 to 4.5 VDC proportional output. Its NEMA 4 weatherproof cast housing is ideal for use in wet or dirty environments. Optional features include a vari‐ ety of amplifier and PWM circuits, various handle de‐ signs and mechanical interlock. The single‐axis joystick controller is suitable for use on bucket trucks and cranes, scissor lifts, work platforms, as well as agricultural, mining and forestry equipment, where control of electro/hydraulic proportional valves or variable speed drives is desired. Co. added a standard Auto Start/Stop functionality to its EnPak truck‐integrated, engine‐driven generator, air compressor and hy‐ draulic pump. The new feature further reduces fuel consumption, unnecessary engine idling, noise and emissions. The company also notes that the function‐ ality will further extend EnPak's service intervals and asset life. With the new function, EnPak can monitor air and hydraulic loads and automatically shut down once all loads have been idle for a pre‐set time. EnPak can then sense air and hydraulic loads and restart its engine when needed. The pre‐set time can range be‐ tween 2 and 30 minutes. The Auto Start/Stop feature can be enabled or disable by a simple push of a button. It also monitors the truck battery voltage and automatically starts EnPak's engine when it senses that charging is re‐ quired. This allows operation of 12‐volt accessories such as LED lights and small inverters to run with the EnPak off. Miller Electric Mfg. Co., www.millerwelds.com Conveyors Stationary truss and channel‐ frame con‐ veyors from Grasan come in 24‐ to 60‐ in. belt widths and lengths from 25 to 500 ft., complete with engineered drives and a variety of options such as walkways, support legs and covers. The standard truss main frames are 36‐in. deep and all jig welded. Truss sections are through‐bolted for extra strength. For long spans between supports, Grasan can furnish 48‐ or 60‐in. deep trusses with extra heavy chord angles. Furthermore, the truss frames are solvent cleaned, primed and finished with a durable top coat in standard or custom col‐ ors. Standard truss conveyors utilize a 20‐in.‐diam‐ eter, rubber‐lagged drive pulley with Q.D. tapered bushings; 2‐7/16 in. or larger turned, ground and polished shafts; wing‐type tail pulley tensioned with top angle protected screw takeups; a 1.15 service factor TEFC electric motor; enclosed drive guard; drive nip guards and tail pulley guards.
