EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY Wheel Loader Not only does the Doosan DL300 wheel loader offer powerful performance and high productivity, it is also fuel‐effi‐ cient, according to the company. Powered by a turbocharged 217‐hp Doosan diesel engine, the DL300 provides low‐end performance and strong torque rise. Simultaneously, an electronic controlled, high‐pressure common‐rail direct fuel injection system helps keep emissions and fuel consumption low. To further reduce fuel con‐ sumption and lower noise levels, it also features a hy‐ draulically driven, variable‐speed cooling fan with an electronic thermostat that constantly monitors en‐ gine coolant and transmission oil temperatures. A ro‐ bust Z‐bar lifting system provides a standard bucket breakout force of 36,419 lbs., among the highest in its size class. Furthermore, it has a static tipping load of 29,392 lbs. at maximum reach with a straight frame and 24,143 lbs. at the maximum steering angle of 40 degrees. Dump height with the standard bucket is 9 ft. 6 in. and dump reach is 3 ft. 10 in. Height at the bucket pivot point is 13 ft. 1 in. Available buckets range from 3.5 to 4.6 cu. yds. Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment America, www.doosanequipment.com Hammer Drill Bits The new Hilti TE‐CX Bit features a gradient carbide head that incorporates four rugged cutting edges, spe‐ cially designed to prevent catching or jamming on rebar. The bit has been designed for drilling holes for medium to heavy‐duty anchors in the 3/16‐ to 1‐in. range in concrete, masonry and other natural materi‐ als. The anchor hole suitability indicator means that accurate anchor holes can be drilled when the indica‐ tor mark is visible. According to the company, in the unlikely event of breakage, the drill bit will be re‐ placed if the wear mark on the helix is still visible. An alternate to the TE‐CX is the new Hilti TE‐C line. With a contoured head and carbide blade, the TE‐C drill bits are designed to slice through concrete and move dust from the hole to the surface as quickly as possible. Hilti, Inc., www.us.hilti.com Bulk Bag Unloaders BEST bulk bag unloaders manufactured by Metso Min‐ erals Industries Inc. provide dust‐free product dis‐ charge from bulk bags. The bulk‐bag unloaders are expandable and flexible to meet discharging and bulk bag requirements. There are three unloader models available: Model BDS bag‐dump station with air‐vibra‐ tor‐shaker grate, economical Model MTU with 2,500 to 4,000 lb. capacity and heavy‐duty Model BBU with vibratory‐motor agi‐ tation. All unloaders can be loaded with fork trucks, company cranes or by hand. Standard unloaders incorporate a neoprene fa‐ cial seal with 17‐in. diame‐ ter discharge outlet for a dust‐tight operation. This new service virtually guarantees better weighing results, lowered equip‐ ment‐testing expenses and enhanced final product consistency through a systematic, expert assessment and benchmarking of balance performance, according to Mettler Toledo. Using a fit gap analysis, Mettler Toledo experts measure a manufacturer's balance per‐ formance against accuracy requirements and the stan‐ dards of the balance's original equipment manufacturer. Experts then review current quality management efforts and balance testing regimens. GWP Verification uncovers whether a customer's cur‐ rent tests and testing schedule can ensure accuracy by assessing current performance versus ideal operating standards. If they cannot, Mettler Toledo's metrology experts make recommendations that establish helpful weight classes, safe‐range nominal values and effec‐ tive testing frequencies. With the right test weights and test types, testing of a manufacturer's balances is optimized to deliver the highest quality results on a consistent basis. Furthermore, the company's CarePacs allow a manufacturer to purchase only those weights required for routine testing instead of other more expensive sets.
