The HL955TM joins a family of six other Hyundai HL900 wheel loader models the company began introducing in 2015 to U.S. and Canadian markets. The new model was among more than 20 Hyundai construction machines on display at the bauma 2016 international construction equipment expo. The HL955TM is the second Tool Master model to join the HL900 series lineup following the recent launch of the HL940TM model. It features Hyundai's Tool Master boom design, with dual linkage for increased lifting capac- ity, improved load stability, rapid dumping capability and enhanced visibility. The HL955TM comes equipped with a standard 3.5-cu.-yd. (2.7 cu. m) bucket, and delivers 28,219 lbf (12,800 kgf ) of bucket breakout force. A Cummins QSB6.7 Tier 4 Final engine rated at 199 net hp (149 kW) powers the HL955TM. Like other Hyundai HL900 series wheel loader models, the HL955TM includes Hyundai's proprietary onboard weigh- ing system, which is accurate to +/- 1 percent. The system has automatic and manual settings for monitoring individual and cumulative bucket load weights. System measurements are displayed on the multi-function screen in the cab, provid- ing reliable load-weight monitoring to support efficient pro- duction management. However, there is no onboard printer to facilitate certified load measurements. Productivity and Fuel Economy "The HL955TM provides the power, productivity and ease of operation customers have come to expect from Hyundai," said Corey Rogers, marketing manager, Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas. "Like the other models in our HL series, the HL955TM provides an exceptional operator environment, productivity enhancements and operating efficiencies." The Hyundai HL955TM wheel loader, like other HL900 series models, delivers up to 5-percent greater productivity and 10-percent lower fuel consumption than previous 9A series models. HL900 series loaders achieve greater fuel economy as a result of such features as Hyundai's Eco Pedal, program- mable auto-engine shutdown (available with the smart key option) and Eco Gauge. Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas, www. hceamericas.com Hyundai Construction Equipment Adds HL955TM Wheel Loader Caterpillar announced the 2016 prod- uct update to its Cat M Series medi- um wheel loader product line (950M, 962M, 966M, 972M, 966M XE, 972M XE, 980M and 982M). Dedicated to responding quickly to customers' needs, these product updates enable Caterpillar to bring new features and product improvements to market more rapidly and with greater frequency than the traditional machine development cycle, the company said. The 2016 prod- uct updates include all new Cat Connect Technologies, additional safety features and reduced operating costs. Reduced Operating Costs The XE models, 966M XE and 972M XE, feature a new Economy Mode that provides up to 4 percent improved fuel economy during general machine oper- ation and up to 8 percent improved fuel economy in aggressive truck-loading applications with essentially no loss in production capability. This reduction in fuel consumption is in addition to the XE models' basic reduction in fuel consumption, up to 25 percent, com- pared with comparable torque-con- verter-equipped models. The Economy Mode, enabled and disabled via the LCD touch display, automatically low- ers engine speed to 1,400 rpm when full power is not required and is trans- parent to the operator. The Variable Ground-Speed Limiter, previously available for only XE mod- els, is now available for all convention- al M Series medium wheel loaders. This feature allows site managers to set machine speed limits from 9 to 25 mph (15 to 40 kph) with independent adjustments for forward and reverse. The settings are protected with the machine service-mode password. An updated touch-screen display now allows operators to select information displayed on the "quad screen," which can simultaneously display, for exam- ple, axle oil temperatures, instant fuel rate, electrical system voltage, and tem- peratures for fluid in the torque con- verter and hydraulic system. A newly designed engine hood allows easier routine service and features a new actuator that speeds opening to 35 seconds. The impact-resistant hood exhibits greater durability as well as improved cooling airflow and enhanced rearward visibility. Optional impact- and corrosion-resistant, hood-mount- ed rear roading fenders are available. Caterpillar, www.cat.com Caterpillar Updates Medium Wheel Loader Product Line
