With crane capacities of 500 to 3,000 lb., davit cranes can be found around the world in almost every industry and thousands of applications. Thern Cranes are durable, maneuver- able and customizable. Regardless of your spatial, strength or portability needs, there is a Thern crane for you. Thern Cranes are available in a variety of custom configurations. The advantage of using davit cranes is very clear and very economical as davit cranes can perform the same tasks as many other more-expensive methods. It is also safer to use a product that is designed specifically for the applica- tion, according to the company. Stationary davit cranes are designed to s e c u re to a s t u rdy fo u n d a t i o n , remain assembled, and can be adjust- ed to height and length requirements. Portable davit cranes break down to manageable parts, allowing them to be disassembled and reassembled where they're needed quickly and easily. The cranes come with a variety of winches and accessories for your specific job. Thern Inc., www.thern.com Atlas Copco Light Tower Features Operational Savings Atlas Copco Construction Equipment's two new light towers – the HiLight V4 and the LED HiLight V5+ – are light- weight , compact and feature Atlas Copco's exclusive HardHat canopy for extreme durability in rugged applica- tions, such as plant maintenance, con- struction and roadbuilding. The HiLight V5+ minimizes operational costs with its long-lasting LED bulbs and fuel-ef- ficient operation. The HiLight V4 fea- tures four metal-halide floodlights to give contractors a dependable light source for a variety of jobsites. "Rental centers need equipment that is easy to maintain and built to with- stand harsh worksites to maximize ROI", said Michael Sagermann, Atlas Copco business line manager, portable energy division. "And their customers expect equipment that will allow their crews to be the most productive as well as safe without significantly affecting their bottom line." Sagermann continued, "Those points are key drivers for product innovation and utilization within the rental indus- try. That's why we built these light tow- ers with our proven HardHat canopy and designed them to minimize fuel consumption to make it economical for contractors to operate." The light towers' HardHat canopies, a common feature on Atlas Copco por- table air compressors, is a durable, lightweight alternative to steel and ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) ther- moplastic canopies. The polyethylene HardHat canopy withstands corrosion, dents and fading, providing ongoing protection of the engine and overall unit while keeping the resale value high. Unlike ABS canopies, the HardHat canopy will not crack if hit by debris, according to the company. The LED floodlights on the HiLight V5+ also help keep maintenance costs low. The lights are rated for 10,000 hours and are durable to withstand a range of challenges, from vibrations during transport to harsh work environments. For rental centers with a fleet of 200 light towers, for example, they can save as many as 600 bulbs each year when compared to metal-halide light towers. Atlas Copco designed the light towers for easy serviceability and longevi- ty. Rental center technicians can flip open the unit's gull-wing doors for fast and easy access to the compact Tier 4 Final Kubota diesel engine and electri- cal components. Its control and power panel has independent circuit break- ers that protect the electrical circuit if overloading or a short circuit occurs. The panel also incorporates an hour meter for accurate service scheduling. The tower's galvanized steel mast pre- vents rust and features block spacers to reduce friction and minimize wear while raising and lowering the mast. The tower's spill-free frame with full fluid containment prevents worksite contamination if a leak occurs. Atlas Copco, www.atlascopco.us Thern Cranes Are Durable, Maneuverable, Customizable
