The TruCore Core Orientation System is the first alternative solution in the marketplace for electronic core orien- tation, according to the company. Tru- Core enables drillers to provide the ac- curate data and results mining clients count on with ease. TruShot is designed for the drill site. The TruShot magnetic survey tool pro- vides wireless communication in a ro- bust, user-friendly configuration. It will be launched in Australia later this year. Other Boart Longyear products include: • LM110 Underground Rig – Designed as a modular drill rig with a number of options for site-specific customization. •  Drill Control Interface (DCi) – Provides drilling contractors a fully electronic interface to safely and effi- ciently operate underground drilling equipment via an independent, light- weight control panel. • LF160 Drill Rig and Freedom Loader – Created with customers' needs in mind, the LF160 surface coring rig is one of the first completely hands- free rod handling solutions with an optional rod loader. •  LS250 MiniSonic – A compact sonic rig that provides an overall safer working environment for drillers. The rig is ideally suited for a wide range of environmental and infrastructure drilling applications, including diffi- cult-to-reach drill sites. •  StopeMaster – Designed for supe- rior access, mobility, flexibility and productivity to meet the unique challenges of narrow vein and other underground mining applications, using a hydraulic rock drill. •  Diamond Bits – A full lineup of dia- mond bits that are designed for a wide range of drilling needs are available. The10UMX Diamond Bit series is a combination of synthetic diamonds and an advanced formulation, which make it the ideal choice for the very hardest rock formations. UMX Dia- mond Bits are a versatile line of diamond coring bits that uses pat- ent-pending technology. Boart Longyear, www.boartlong-, 801-972-6430 Tesmec Rock Hawg for Surface Mining Applications For aggregates operations that cannot blast due to location, community con- cerns or other reasons, surface mining machines may be the answer. The Rock Hawg from Tesmec was especially con- ceived for hard rock excavation. Tesmec surface miners are suitable to excavate even strong and unfractured rock, cutting vertical walls and square corners while producing low amounts of dust. Tesmec surface mining machines can be equipped with laser for grade control and/or GPS for auto steering and grade control. The high produc- tion capacity of the Tesmec Rock Hawg reduces the need of multiple units to a single unit working in the area, guar- anteeing an easy job site to manage. The shock and vibration from the Rock Hawg excavation process is neg- ligible, and therefore the danger zone to surrounding structures becomes a non-issue, according to the company. The special drum attachment with car- bide diggings tools accompanied with the high engine power allows for a very efficient hourly output per each unit. Tesmec Rock Hawg surface miners are employed for bulk excavation projects, continuous surface mining and open- pit quarry applications, such as: • Quarries (surface mining). •  Excavation of big channels (large diameter pipeline). • Bulk excavation of rock for construc- tion and infrastructure such as ports, metro railway lines, big channels. • Agricultural soil reclamation. The Rock Hawg version of the 1150XHD model has been designed for contin- uous surface mining. Its 10-ft., 3-in. (312-cm) wide drum is employed in bulk-excavations projects and open-pit quarries. It has a 50-metric-ton-class operating weight, 440-hp engine, ele- vating cab, hydraulic stabilizers and TrenchTronic 3.0 equipped. It can work up-cutting or down-cutting by simply changing the attachment. The Rock Hawg version of the 1475 model has been designed for continuous surface mining in rock, where its 12-ft. 6-in. (381-cm) wide drum is employed in bulk-excavations projects, open-pit quarries, and very large diameter pipe- lines. Equipped with TrenchTronic 3.0, the 1475 RH is Tesmec's largest Rock Hawg featuring a 630-hp engine. It can also work up-cutting or down-cutting by simply changing the attachment.
