The new design is a versatile and transportable atomized mist unit, engineered with a workhorse electric motor and 30-kW generator. Permanently mounted on a rugged road-worthy trailer, the company's Fusion lineup is proving to be a popular and effective means of delivering powerful dust suppression technology to sites that lack a convenient power source. Unlike its larger siblings, water is supplied to the DB-30 Fusion by a standard 5/8-in. (15.8 mm) garden hose, so it can be used at any location with a working hose bib. Equipped with an in-line 75-mesh, 200-micron filter, the unit can also be specified with special filtration to accommodate non-po- table water sources. With an adjustable throw angle from 0 to 50 degrees of eleva- tion and a range of approximately 30 meters (100 ft.) in calm conditions, the standard configuration includes user-defin- able 359-degree oscillation, allowing the unit to cover as much as 31,000 sq. ft. (2,880 sq. meters) with a powerful dust-trapping mist. The new design can also be optimized with a Variable Fre- quency Drive (VFD) to precisely adjust fan speed. An optional dosing pump is available for precise metering of additives to even further enhance particle control. The extremely water-efficient design consumes just 2.5 gpm. That's compared to competing dust-control methods such as manual spraying that can use hundreds of gallons per minute, resulting in over-saturation, run-off concerns and higher water costs. A touch screen panel for controlling the DB-30 Fusion is encased in a NEMA 3R cabinet, allowing operators to con- trol oscillation, fan and water. The cabinet is constructed for outdoor use, designed to provide protection against solid foreign objects (such as dirt), air (dust, emissions), water (rain, sleet, snow) and ice formation. BossTek, Universal Flow Monitors Inc. now offers a HART protocol option on all of its variable area and piston style flowmeters designed to perform in challenging lubrication environ- ments. These meters are optimized for specific lubrication fluids. There is an additional option of a mechanical switch to back up the transmitted signal. HART is a digital communication signal superimposed on top of the 4–20 mA standard analog signal that provides addi- tional digital information to the controller. It is one of the most popular industrial protocols. The UFM website aids customers in choosing a flowmeter specific to their needs. Product specification choices are available for units of measurement, maximum flow rate, pipe size and pressure. The HART option is offered on all variable area vane and piston style flowmeters. These simple low maintenance meters come in 12 sizes and go up to 2000 psi pressure for flow ranging up to 500 gpm. They have CSA and CE certifi- cations; are easy to install, operate and maintain; and they mount in-line and in any orientation, with no straight pipe runs required.
