Cat Opens New Visitors Center A once‐empty block on the Peoria, Ill., riverfront is now filled with modern structures and interactive exhibits. October 20 marked a spe‐ cial day for Caterpillar Inc. as it opened the new Caterpillar Visi‐ tors Center. The Caterpillar Visitors Center is described by the company as "fascinating look at the company, the iron and the people making sustainable progress possible around the world. From the humble beginnings of the first tractor to the company's pres‐ ent‐day leadership in building infrastructure and powering the planet – it's all right here on Peo‐ ria's beautiful riverfront." n Caterpillar invested more than$52 million into the Caterpillar Visitors Center and Peoria Riverfront Museum projects. n The Caterpillar Visitors Center is nearly 50,000 sq. ft. and home to a number of exhibits, including a 62‐seat theater inside a life‐size Cat 797–24 ft. tall, 400‐ton truck. n The Visitors Center spotlights Cat heritage, products and services and showcases the work its customers do every day all around the world to make sustainable progress possible. n The Visitors Center opened to the public Oct. 20, 2012. Visi‐ tors Center hours are 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Mon‐ day through Saturday.
