Designed through detailed input from thousands of drivers, the new Gran- ite interior was developed to improve comfort and offer an ergonomic, driv- er-centric layout. "The new Granite interior offers the best working environment for voca- tional drivers," said Jonathan Randall, senior vice president of sales and mar- keting, Mack Trucks. "The Granite manages to handle even the most dif- ficult tasks with ease, and it's critical that drivers have a surrounding envi- ronment that makes it easier for them to do their jobs in comfort." Mack unveiled the new Granite interior in September 2017. One of the pre- mier features of the layout is the new flat-bottom steering wheel, a trucking industry first, enabling easier entering and exiting of the cab, as well as offer- ing more belly room. The new steering wheel also gives the driver a better view of the dash, and can be equipped with illuminated cruise control, Bluetooth and audio system buttons. The new gauge cluster and dash layout in the Granite model improves visibility and readability. Frequently used controls are within reach of the driver's fingertips. Switches were repo- sitioned higher on the dash, and the Mack mDRIVE automated manual trans- mission shift pad is closer to the driver. The dash panel can accommodate 18 easy-to-read switches, which have laser etched labeling for readability and to prevent them from being worn off, even with repeated use. An Automatic Temperature Control fea- ture was added to the HVAC controls so that air temperature is maintained once set by the driver. Cup holders and storage bins are in a new lower center console, and both are easily removed for cleaning. Multiple 12-volt and USB charging ports are available throughout the dash, and a new non-slip pad on top of the dash features two USB charging ports. Under the agreement, AirGon will sell, train and support YellowS- can's complete line of small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (sUAV) LIDAR scanning systems. The system choices range from the mapping grade YellowScan Mapper to the advanced, Riegl-based YellowScan VX and the new Velodyne VLP32C- based Surveyor Ultra. "We are very pleased with this superb addition to our AirGon solution offer- ings," said Lewis Graham, general manager of AirGon and president of GeoCue Group. "I think 2018 will be the beginning of a ground swell movement to LIDAR-equipped drones. We did an extensive review of systems available on the market and found the YellowS- can products to be the only solution that really meets the reliability require- ments necessary to minimize down time. Drone LIDAR systems are rapidly advancing and thus must be capitalized over a fairly short life span. When you face this challenge, reliability is keenly important." Graham continued, "In addition, the broad applicability of the various YellowScan systems from mapping to survey accuracy allows us to meet each customer's unique needs. We have been offering LIDAR workflows solutions and processing tools since 2003. Our YellowScan agreement, in concert with our recently announced DJI Enterprise agreement, allows us to offer a turnkey experience for our drone mapping customers." "We are very excited to name AirGon LLC our North American distributor," said Pierre d´Hauteville, CEO of YellowScan. "The GeoCue Group has been providing consulting, training and software for the manned aerial and mobile LIDAR com- munity since its inception. They have a sterling reputation in the industry for outstanding technical support. Their AirGon subsidiary has performed more than 1,000 mapping flights and thus have gained tremendous experience in drone mapping over the past few years. I think they will be an excellent supporter of our technology in North America." The Agreement was effective in Decem- ber 2017. AirGon owns a demonstration YellowScan system mounted on a DJI m600 sUAS platform. AirGon, www.airgon.com Mack Granite Driver-Focused Interior Spotlighted at World of Concrete
