LED Flashlight Approved under both UL and ATEX safety standards, the EXPRL‐91 Intrinsically Safe LED is an ideal portable light source for workers in hazardous locations. De‐ signed for rugged and dependable operation, this in‐ trinsically safe LED flashlight's housing is constructed of a lightweight and chemical resistant polymer that provides a no‐slip grip and high resistance to damage from impacts and dropping. The EXPRL‐ 91 is also fitted with high grade LED lamp assemblies which provide additional impact and vibration resistance while also providing up to 360 lumens of high‐quality light output. Additionally, the flashlight offers multiple modes of operation including a single stan‐ dard flashlight mode producing 160 lumens, a floodlight mode producing 200 lumens, spot/flood combination for 360 lumens, and momentary or continuous strob‐ ing flash operation. The EXPRL‐91 will run for 6 hours when in stan‐ dard flashlight mode, and up to 16 hours in strobe light mode when fully charged. Power is provided by rechargeable NiMH batteries rated at 1000+ recharge cycles, and recharging is via a standard 100‐ 240 VAC wall charger and charging cradle or 12 VDC vehicle charging cord, all of which is included with the flashlight. Larson Electronics, www.lxflashlights.com DC Motors Baldor, a member of the ABB group, has expanded its line of DC motors. Both IEC and NEMA frame motors are available from stock from 1/50 to 500 hp, and Baldor meets specific application needs with custom‐designed motors up to 3,000 hp. While other manufacturers have left the DC motor market, ABB and Baldor continue to invest in DC product development and U.S. manufacturing. A complete offering of Baldor round body DC motors has the same shaft height and mounting dimensions as competitors motors, states the company. Baldor also offers a full range of laminated frame DC motors, including explosion proof designs. ABB's DMI DC motor is the most power dense DC motor design in the global market. The laminated frame, IEC product has rat‐ ings up to 1400 Kw, and with its smaller footprint can be used in a variety of applications where space is an issue. In addi‐ tion to significantly longer service life, this patented "quad bearing" design withstands more severe applications than tra‐ ditional rollers, notes the manufacturer. Made with universal shafts, and 5‐, 6‐ or 7‐in. diameters, these proven products fit any manufacturers' brackets. They are ideal for abrasive and corrosive environments, including use in mining, aggregate ma‐ terials handling, power plants and others. The patented Elite design allows the re‐use of the axle assembly, yielding a signifi‐ cant savings over replacing entire idler assemblies. Because there is no welding on the idler assembly, any damaged parts can be replaced in just minutes. Rollers can be refurbished at a fraction of the price of new ones, with 90 percent of the materi‐ als re‐used. Standard rollers include ¾‐in. bearings, while heavy duty rollers are equipped with 1 ¼‐in. bearings. They are available for belt widths of 18 in. to 96 in. An inner support tubes ensures that hubs are independent of each other for smoother operation and longer life. Stainless steel shafts are also available for corrosive applications.
